why did we choose it

Sometimes it pays to make a big investment to reap the benefits of a great credit card. This is exactly the case with the Amex Platinum card. In exchange for the annual fee, you get access to the Amex Membership Rewards program, which gives you access to transfer partner flights and hotels, along with new lifestyle and travel credits. This card is also incredibly rewarding for travel purchases, helping you earn tons of Membership Rewards points towards your next rewards trip.

Benefits

  • The current welcome offer on this card is quite lucrative. TPG values it at $1,600.
